About NIPM

The National Institute of Personnel of Personnel Management (NIPM) came into existence in March 1980, as a result of merger of two professional Institutes, viz. the National Institute of LabourManagement and the Indian Institute of Personnel Management. The NIPM is now the only all India body of professional managers dealing with Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, Human Resource Development and Labour Welfare in the Country. The total membership of more than 12 thousand individual and more than 200 Institutional Members spread across 5 regions and 55 chapters. These Chapters are under the territorial jurisdiction of Five Regiond, viz. western, Eastern, Southern, Northern and Central.

NIPM is a non-profit making body and its main objectives are to encourage and assist the development of Professional Management to achieve high standards of knowledge and performance. NIPM is continously engaged in spreading knowledge and informaion about its practices by promotion research, training and extending other services in the field of Personnel Management. With a view to fulfilling these objectives, NIPM arranges conferences, Seminars, Training Programmes, Study Courses and Meetings. It also awards Post Graduate Dipoma in Personnel Management. Constant interaction with Government Departments, employers and tade union organizations helps the NIPM to obtain and disseminate information on Personnel Management, Industrial Relations and allied functions.

NIPM is recognized as the leading Human Resource Management Institute in India supporting standards of excellence in every phase of the profession and represents practitioners in business, government and academic community. It is the premier forum in the Country devoted to furthering the cause of professionalism in the Personnel and Industrial Relations field through an exchange of knowledge and experience of experts from all parts of the world.

About NIPM Sahyadri Satara

NIPM Sahyadri Satara Chapter was established on 1st November 2025 with the objective of creating a strong professional platform for Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, professional development and knowledge sharing.

The Chapter brings together HR professionals, industry representatives, management professionals and students to promote learning, collaboration, professional networking and sharing of best practices. NIPM Sahyadri Satara Chapter is the first NIPM Chapter to have more than 50% women membership, reflecting its commitment to diversity, inclusion and active participation of women in Sahyadri Satara Chapter. The Chapter is also actively involved in taking initiatives and ensuring strong participation in national-level events and programmes of NIPM, contributing to the success and wider reach of professional activities.

The Chapter conducts HR programmes, Management Development Programmes (MDPs), workshops, member engagement activities and Student Chapter initiatives, while promoting industry–academia interaction and continuous professional development.

Objective

The main objectives of the Institute, as enshrined in its Constitution are : To spread the knowledge on the approach, principles, practices, techniques and methods regarding personnel management, industrial management, industrial relations labour and social welfare and industrial jurisprudence in all their bearings.

To serve as a forum for exchange of ideas and experiences and collection and dissemination of information on management in general ,and personnel management, industrial relations, human resources development and labour and social welfare, in particular.

As a member of the National Institute of Personnel Management, I declare that I shall:

  • Subscribe to the aims and objects of the National Institute of Personnel Management and be bound by its Constitution.
  • Maintain high standard of integrity and behaviour demanded by the profession.
  • Take keen interest in the establishment of healthy personnel practices and development of the profession. 
  • Endeavor to enhance the good name of my professional in dealing with other professional bodies, government departments, and employers’ and employees’ organisation. 
  • Not allow any interest other than professional to interfere with the right of association of the employees.
  • Not disclose any information of a confidential nature that I may acquire in the course of my professional work without obtaining the consent of those concerned and shall not use confidential information for personal gains.
  • Recognise and accept the dignity of an individual as human being, irrespective of religion, language, caste or creed. 
  • Conduct myself as a responsible member of the management team committed to the achievement of the organisational goals. 
  • Try to win confidence and gain respect of the employers and employees and make myself available to them to provide formal and informal intervention to resolve industrial conflicts. 
  • Cooperative in maximising the effectiveness of the profession by exchanging freely information and experience with other members.
